There is some stuff to do along the way, but to get to the boss you want to go up the large tree roott, in the sandy area where the dogs are. Make your way upward and follow the path until the Site of Grace "West Capital Rampart". At the end is the wing of the huge dead dragon. If you go down the stairs again you enter an area where you need to fight a couple of Knights. On that street, roughly at the center and opposite the broken down cart, there is a stairway down to the Site of Grace "Avenue Balcony". You can avoid it, but it's worth the kill so you can walk there safely since it doesn't respawn. If you just want to progress the main story, and explore later, there are a couple of things you want do: Dungeon Bosses: - Make your way to the main street down below where you will face a guardian. it's stronger than the scarabs iv'e seen up to now, took two fully charged casts of frenzied burst to kill it. There are another two of these knights but neither one has a greatbow, there is one patrolling back and forth on the far right as you walk through the gate, and there is another one standing guard behind the long building on your left, once you have killed the knights walk to the railings on the left and the scarab that drops the thunderbolt ash of war will be below you. If you can hit him at range then duck straight back inside the doorway he will come looking for you and is easily dealt with in close quarters.
I've just gotten an ash of war called thunderbolt that isn't listed here or on the map, from the avenue balcony site of grace go down the steps but don't go through the gate after the stairs going down, there is a dragon knight with a greatbow straight in front of you, I haven't been able to get far using stealth, it sees me right away and starts spamming the great bow.
